Banque Havilland S.A. Successfully Exits the Suspension of Payment

Banque Havilland S.A. (“Company”) announces the successful conclusion of its resolution process following the European Central Bank’s (“ECB”) unexpected withdrawal of its banking license on August 1, 2024. This decision, which took effect on August 2, 2024, led to court-supervised creditor protection proceedings (“Suspension of Payments”) under the oversight of the District Court of Luxembourg (“Court”).

Immediately following this decision, the Company filed an act for annulment against the ECB’s ruling and continues to pursue this action before the General Court of the European Union. The Company remains steadfast in its position that the withdrawal of its license was unjustified and disproportionate, emphasizing that its liquidity and solvency were never in question.

Despite this challenge, the Company acted swiftly and diligently to protect the interests of its clients and creditors. Through concerted efforts, all depositor claims were honoured in full. As a result, and upon the Company’s petition, on June 20, 2025, the Court ordered the release of the Company from the Suspension of Payments.

Following the recent court decision, we are pleased to confirm that deposits and trade creditors will be paid shortly. The Company remains committed to ensuring a smooth and transparent process for all stakeholders.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all employees, providers, and clients for their support and patience throughout this challenging period. Your trust and dedication have been invaluable as the Company navigated through this process.
